KXIV (1400 AM) in Phoenix, Arizona, was the radio station co-owned by Dick Van Dyke. He served as principal in KXIV Inc. from 1965 to 1985, programming it with a middle-of-the-road music format until 1982. Van Dyke had a home in Phoenix and a real issue with alcohol. The station later became KSUN and now operates as a Spanish-language outlet. This ownership also inspired the fictional KXIV-TV in his 1970s sitcom The New Dick Van Dyke Show, set in Phoenix.
