Mike Barer says:
Lan embraced new technology. I had just gotten a computer, (smart phones were not a thing), about the 90s and Lan had a web site. Blogs and Facebook were not common either.
Lan would share his opinions and we agreed on most things and began corresponding, even though I did not know him from his radio days. Actually, a guy named Dale Patterson had a “radio hall of fame” for each large town. I asked why Burl was not on it and he said that Lan gave him the names for Seattle.
He talked about how radio had deteriorated, and warned of the dangers of smoking, as well as many political positions we shared. Sadly, we never did meet up.
But no doubt, Lan would have been an active Facebooker, being critical of it each time. +

Kay died in 2005. So that video is likely from a few months after.
