After serving for 35 years as a staff member of the Republican Caucus in the state House of Representatives, John Sattgast announced yesterday to legislators in the caucus that this will be his final legislative session. Sattagst plans to retire from his post as Broadcast Coordinator/Senior Information Officer at the end of the 2026 session, continuing to do radio news reports through April.
In his Facebook post, Sattgast wrote: “My special thanks to former House Speaker Clyde Ballard who helped to bring me from KPQ Radio in Wenatchee to the Capitol in January 1991.”
