94.9 The Zone/Chandler (Phoenix) has stepped into AI broadcasts 24/7 using SonicTrek.ai with an Adult Alternative format. The Zelus Media Group station covers the East Valley well and parts of downtown Phoenix/Scottsdale and mimics former 101.5 KZON’s Alternative leanings.
John Curley (of KIRO Newsradio), recently went public about his facelift procedure. In a candid return-to-air segment, he joked about looking like a “monster” and quipped that his future is definitely in radio, not TV Guide covers. The MyNorthwest video and article lay it all out—he addressed loose skin, jawline, neck tightening, fat grafting, and laser work after major weight loss left him feeling self-conscious on camera during events. Respect for owning it openly. That said, between nip/tucks, AI video, and TikTok filters, it’s wild the lengths people (and now even radio stations) go to push back against time and change. Aging is tough, but the fightback game is next-level these days. I’m guessing these were not the first changes done to that face, but Curley is definitely on a quest.

KNX Los Angeles and KCBS San Francisco simulcast overnights. Regional news networks or simulcasts suck to watch and listen to. These stations can certainly afford seperate overnight crews. Don’t tell me otherwise. If you want news from some other market, find their app or click LISTEN on their website.
