New to the KING 5 investigative team–
“Thrilled. Ecstatic. Over the moon! All the excited words to share I’ve joined KING 5’s investigative team – and am making the Pacific Northwest home! It’s such an honor to become part of a legacy newsroom that’s spent decades shining a light, holding power to account, and serving this community with real impact. I can’t wait to dig in, earn your trust, and tell the stories that matter most. So, Seattle… what should I investigate?”

Andie Judson is an award-winning investigative journalist and TV reporter, known for her in-depth work uncovering systemic issues, government accountability, and stories impacting communities. She spent several years (around 2020–2025) as an Investigative Reporter at ABC10 (KXTV) in Sacramento, California, where she produced high-impact series like “The Price of Care: Taken by the State.” This investigation exposed problems in California’s conservatorship and developmental services systems, including civil liberties abuses and family separations. Her reporting contributed to policy changes, scrutiny of state agencies, and even the signing of conservatorship reform legislation by Governor Gavin Newsom. It earned major national honors, including:

Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award (often called the “Pulitzer of Broadcast”)
Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) Award
Gracie Award (for investigative feature in local TV)
Peabody Award nomination

She also received regional Emmys, Edward R. Murrow Awards, and Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) recognitions. Her work has aired on networks like NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN, and reached international audiences. Before ABC10, Andie worked at WCNC in Charlotte, North Carolina, and produced national stories for TEGNA stations while based in Washington, D.C. Her career started with internships and research roles at CNN and NBC News in Los Angeles and Atlanta.

She’s a seventh-generation Californian, originally from the San Luis Obispo area (raised there and a graduate of San Luis Obispo High School), with a Bachelor of Film & Electronic Arts from California State University-Long Beach. She’s described herself as passionate about truth-seeking, holding power accountable, and amplifying underrepresented voices.
