APRIL 30, 2001 – The Lex & Terry Show debuts on KFNK FM 104.9 Eatonville. The Howard Stern Show starts May 14th, mornings on KISW FM 99.9 Seattle.
APRIL 26, 2001 – The FCC has granted application by KGHO AM 920 Olympia for a transmitter location change to 47-3-44 122-49-49 with power of 3 kw day and .007 kw night non-directional. The station is currently off air.
APRIL 19, 2001 – KUBE FM 93.3 Seattle celebrates its 20th anniversary, while KMTT FM 103.7 Tacoma turns ten years old.
APRIL 12, 2001 – Word has been received that newsman and talk host Bill Munson passed away in January. Munson worked at such Seattle area stations as KOL, KAYO and KJR (partnering there with Gary Lockwood in an afternoon drive show). According to colleague Bill Taylor, Munson also worked at stations in San Francisco and Los Angeles, under his real name B.R. Bradbury, and in Vancouver.
APRIL 03, 2001 – The FCC has granted application by KWOK AM 1490 Hoquiam to change city of license to Cosmopolis with transmitter location change to 46-57-30 123-48-35. Transmitter power will be 1kw day/.76 kw night.
