Tweet: You’re FIRED

This is public and demoralizing. No forewarning or sitdown with HR before the info goes public. Chicago FM sports radio died in the ratings and was put out of it’s misery months after a Robert Feder post on Twitter. This was 11 years ago, but a classic view of management not giving a damn about their employees. An email would have been better than this.

  1. KAYO/KSPL:
The late, great Jerry Kay and I were summarily given the proverbial heave-ho after the morning show on Christmas Eve Day 1982. We repaired to Andy’s Diner, fortuitously right next door.

    1. Just about everybody who has been in the broadcast biz has a story like that.
That famous quote from Hunter S. Thompson, “The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.” Just substitute RADIO for MUSIC.
