I generally associate most anything Curley says with the other end of that horse!...Tom T. is a very reasonable "liberal" guy, who indeed tends to deflate Curley when he goes off on his mostly "Libertarian" rants.
Sometimes, I think Curley baits Tangney and the rants are just part of his act.
