Corbin K. Smith Announces Departure

Corbin K. Smith is a Seattle Seahawks beat reporter, podcaster, and sports media personality known for his coverage of the NFL team and broader Pacific Northwest sports.

He graduated from Manchester College (now Manchester University) in 2012. He began his professional life as a high school Economics teacher in Indianapolis and also coached high school football for about five years. During this time, he started covering the Seattle Seahawks as a hobby by launching his own NFL website.

In 2017, he shifted to full-time sports reporting. He wrote for USA Today’s Seahawks Wire and produced the Legion of 12 podcast. In August 2018, Smith joined the Arena Group and became a key writer/publisher for the Seahawks On SI (Sports Illustrated) site, where he worked for roughly seven to eight seasons. He has long co-hosted the daily Locked On Seahawks podcast (part of the Locked On Podcast Network), often alongside Rob Rang and Nick Lee.

In February 2025, Smith founded Emerald City Spectrum, an independent Seattle sports site focused on in-depth coverage of pro and college teams in the region (Seahawks, Kraken, Huskies, Mariners, and others). He serves as the lead Seahawks reporter there.

He is a member of the Pro Football Writers Association.

Today, Smith announced he was stepping away from Locked On after about seven years to pursue new projects.
