May 7, 1976 – Paul Harvey, 25-year veteran of the ABC Radio Network, adds a new program next week. Titled “The Rest of the Story,” the feature will be heard daily at 3:50 p.m. on KOMO. The station also carries Harvey’s familiar newscast-commentaries at 8 a.m. weekdays and noon weekdays plus Saturday. For the first 3 1/2-minute program, Harvey will tell the story of a child born with the name Leslie Lynch Link Jr. who grew up to become a United States congressman and then President.
First broadcast in KQIN’s series of 24 Longacres races will be presented at 7 p.m. Sunday. Mark Kaufman calls the races. Most races will be delayed a bit, to the 7 o’clock hour, but four feature races will be broadcast live from the track this year.
May 8, 1976 – Another National Basketball Association playoff game, Golden State vs. Phoenix, will be heard on KXA at 4:05 tomorrow afternoon. KXA also plans to carry Boston-Cleveland playoff games 4:50 p.m. Tuesday and 5:50 p.m. Friday.
