Paris Jackson served as a traffic anchor and reporter for KOMO 4 News from June 2013 until August 2020. A native of the Pacific Northwest, she was born in Seattle, raised in Tacoma, and graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory School before earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication from Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, with a double major in Broadcast News and Ethnic Studies. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and its Seattle chapter.

Before joining KOMO, Jackson worked as an evening reporter at WVTM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama, where she covered significant events like the 2011 Alabama tornadoes and high-profile cases such as the Natalee Holloway disappearance and a major government bankruptcy. She also reported for KEZI-TV in Eugene, Oregon. Her work has earned her Emmy and Associated Press awards.

At KOMO, Jackson was part of the morning news team, known for her close-knit relationships with co-anchors Kelly Koopmans and Seth Wayne. In 2018, she publicly shared her breast cancer diagnosis, detailing her journey through chemotherapy while continuing to work, supported by her colleagues and viewers. Her story highlighted themes of friendship, family, and faith, and she participated in events like Stand Up for the Cure to support breast cancer survivors.

Jackson left KOMO in August 2020 to “pursue new endeavors,” though it’s unclear whether this was her choice or the station’s decision. Some reports noted KOMO quickly removed her information from their website, and viewer comments expressed disappointment, suggesting she may have been underutilized in her traffic role despite her qualifications.

In 2023, Jackson joined Cascade PBS (formerly Crosscut) as the host of The Newsfeed (also referred to as Crosscut Now), which airs on KCTS 9. She also hosts the Crosscut Talks podcast and has been involved in events like the Cascade PBS Ideas Festival.
