While completing her degree, she interned with CBS affiliate KTVN Channel 2 in Reno. After graduating college, she was a correspondent for Go Radio, a subsidiary of Westwood One / Dial Global. Cristen later moved to the Southeast where she was a weekend anchor and reporter for WGXA News, the FOX / ABC affiliate in Macon, GA. She left September 2014 to work for Time Warner Cable News, a statewide news agency in North Carolina which later became Spectrum News.
