Culling the weak. Chuck Todd out @ NBC

Former “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd is leaving NBC News after nearly 18 years at the network. Todd said in a memo to NBC News colleagues that Friday was his last day. He’ll continue doing his podcast and said he’s considering new projects, but offered no details.

Before joining NBC, Todd worked for 15 years at National Journal’s “The Hotline,” where he served as the editor-in-chief for six of those years.
Todd joined NBC News in 2007 as the network’s political director, recruited by then-Washington bureau chief and “Meet the Press” moderator Tim Russert. His roles included being the Chief White House Correspondent and host of “The Daily Rundown” on MSNBC.
In 2014, Todd was named the moderator of “Meet the Press,” NBC’s flagship Sunday morning public affairs show, succeeding David Gregory. Under his moderation, the show expanded into digital spaces with a podcast, a blog, and even an annual film festival. He hosted “MTP Daily” on MSNBC, which was later moved to NBC’s streaming service, NBC News Now. He stepped down from “Meet the Press” in September 2023, with Kristen Welker taking over.
After stepping down as moderator, Todd transitioned to the role of Chief Political Analyst for NBC News, where he continued to contribute to political coverage across NBC’s platforms.
