Dori Monson Suspended For Tweet

🎼🎵🎶✌ SPURIOUS EMISSIONS ✌🎼🎵🎶 NorthwestBroadcasters — Dori Monson has been suspended indefinitely by Bonneville Seattle from hosting the Seahawks’ pregame and postgame radio shows after a tweet he sent Wednesday mocking the transgender community. Monson’s radio show was hosted today by Jason Rantz.

Monson sent the tweet Wednesday night during the Washington gubernatorial debate between Gov. Jay Inslee and Republican challenger Loren Culp.

Monson, who also hosts a daily show on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM from noon to 3 p.m., tweeted: “Inslee: we follow science in WA. The state where I could go to Olympia tomorrow and change my birth cert to say I was a girl on 10/2/61 HAHAHAHAHA.” SEATTLETIMES

Will some of the other KIRO hosts stand up against this? Seems there needs to be a new radio station for the voice of Christians and Patriots. It isn’t KIRO FM. We live in a cancel culture and the wrong people have the power to destroy good people. It seems America needs a cleansing. Read into that what you want.

  • Were it not for social media, this thread would be non-existent.

Does Inslee even look at Dori's tweets?

What response would Dori expect from Inslee if he delivered the message in person, complete with the five "HA"s?

What was Dori's point in the first place, just to prove to Inslee, and to himself, that he's funnier, hipper and cooler than the rest of us?

    • Some people do play-by-play of events through Twitter. It seems, Dori is amused and bewildered by transgenders, queers and others of the alphabet deviants. Hence, it comes up in the heat of the debate. For his comment, Dori could have gone to social media prison for a week. Instead, he gets suspended, and that won't end well. In his efforts to entertain, he triggered some snowflakes. They so easily get their panties in a twist. They seem to seek rejection, so they can react.

  • I wondered when the Seattle Cancel Culture would come for him. Having an opinion is a crime to the left. I hope he doesn't apologize and stands up for what he believes.

BTW that post is how the majority of Americans believe.

Thank you Mr Remington for providing this space. (Alienating anyone who isn't American? I believe Parker is a bit out of touch. lol)

    • Thank you, Louis.
I have emailed Dori, urging him NOT to apologize. It is his choice. An apology would be empty words, a sham.
We live in a world where the mentally deficient, unwashed, sexually deviant, have influenced the media, corporate entities and politics. It is up to right-minded Americans to stand by the truth and reject the Godless heathens, in all their forms.

  • Everyone assumes a lofty motive for KIRO's making Dori go sit in the corner, but I haven't read a mention here nor seen a press release from KIRO regarding the actual reason.

Okay, time for the obvious truth. It was (take a breath) money! Sponsors may self-righteously boycott the miscreant's program to make themselves appear noble, and this usually has some domino effect. There could even be a rowdy bus ride from Capitol Hill to Eastlake Ave. & E. Howe St.

Behind the scenes, Dave Ross has written the script for a public apology and dress rehearsal has already taken place. There will be dewy eyes, hand wringing and hearty asexual virtual hugs. Jay Inslee will take a hiatus from campaigning to attend the ceremony in his dual role as governor and stringer for The Daily Olympian. Jason Rantz will go back to whatever he was doing.

    • I enjoy your cynical, yet realistic commentary here!...According to Monson, none of us have to feel sorry for him...he has been not so subtly crowing for years, as to his financial security, great family values, plans for retirement, etc...Then again, he has been consistently high-rated for listenership...and we know that ratings rule in radio!...I, like you, assume, after the smoke clears from his ears, he will bite the bullet, apologize in a general way, and continue to pull down the high salary he gets....after all, conservatives value money and status above all else!

      • I have received a complaint or two from the Liberal Left concerning my views. Something about tolerance. I have no tolerance for the Liberal Left. They are the first to shout for tolerance, yet are the least tolerant when someone has a view opposite theirs. I have no time for those fools. This is not NPR.

        • Jason,

I had a radical left person threatened me on Facebook that he would call my employer and get me fired because I didn't agree about Dori getting suspended and I called out the Leftist Socialists for their comments. That is how they act!!!! They are very dangerous to our country I love so much!!!!

          • They have lost their minds. There is no reasoning with them. They believe their lies.

  • Yes. At KVAC the transmitter was behind the jock and the tower was next to the window. On my first day a jock held a light tube in the air and said "watch this." Seconds later it lit up.

I went to Forks from . . . Hollywood, where I'd worked at JBL Sound and held grunt positions in kid's TV. I had intended to return to L.A. and conquer the market, but while at KVAC I received an actual offer: Wenatchee. Seattle was the last stop.

    • Lee,

If you ever write your memoirs, that second paragraph will have to be the introduction.

Best laugh I've had all day!

      • Forks and Hollywood aren't that different. Or maybe they are – it's been too long to accurately recall.

As for the remainder of my memoirs, Bill O'Reilly is currently working on my unauthorized biography: Killing Radio.

      • From Hollywood to Wenatchee, by way of Forks. It's honest and it served his purposes. I like it!

  • I see that Jason Remington put some time in at KVAC so maybe the transmitter and tower, one inside and the other virtually inside the studio, cooked his brain, causing a severe case of conservatism? Being an alumnus of KVAC myself, maybe that's what happened to me, too — and Don Ice was one of the nicest radiomen I ever met, as was Steve Agbaba.

In any event I concur with Jason's premise that the Seattle media has become a Leftist freak show. It was well into left field when I worked that market and now it's somewhere out in the parking lot, left of left field.

As for Dori Monson, I don't know him well but we've exchanged a few emails over the decades; enough of them that I would question the motives of anyone who suggests that he is anything less than an honorable man.

    • From KVAC, I went to KDFL/Sumner, which had a similar transmitter setup, right behind the jock. The tower was in the field across from the control room window. In the summertime, that transmitter really contributed to a hot studio.

      • At KURB, the transmitter was in the control room, right behind the jock. Sometimes, when you opened the mike, one of the tubes got so hot you could feel it through the glass a foot away and it was about as bright as the sun. There'd be a big loud buzz coming from inside the transmitter enclosure that could be heard clear out in the office if the control room door was open.

        • Same at KDFL. The hum from the transmitter was audible on-air.

  • I do not get where religion comes into play here...my gripe is this...why would any corporation feel they have the right to censor an employee who is tweeting? Individual viewpoints expressed on personal sites should be off-limits to censorship/punishment!...I think it is called freedom of speech...I am not a Dori fan, but he has a right to his personal opinions, as long as he is using his own form of social media!

    • The speech police are everywhere. The thought police are next.

  • I listened for a minute the first day he was on the air. The hype was that he had some unrelated job at KIRO and was being "given a chance" to see if he could do a talk show after his endless whining that nobody was as good as he would surely be.

I don't see why one station would necessarily program for both Christians and Patriots. KCMS, KCIS and KBLE are already locally available for Christians. I hear that a few evangelicals have access to microphones too.

But it's those under-served (And patriotic!) Bandorai, Atheists, Druids, Agnostics, Satanists and Scientologists who deserve a government-funded worldwide broadcasting platform. The B.A.D.A.S.S. Network! It might employ an intracranial iPhone to achieve instant dominance of its desired demographic. You'll never walk alone.

    • I see that you are being politically correct (is that an oxymoron?) lumping Atheists with Scientologists. I don't think one radio station can support both. A radio station has to fill a niche. Satanists, witches, and warlocks can be served with one station, but Atheists would not listen to a station that also serves Scientologists. Just as I, a Conservative, can't keep my lunch down if I hear NPR.

  • KIRO will become part of the Leftist freak show that radio has become. Maybe podcasting and independent media is the only way to get truth across to those who still have the IQ to understand the truth.

    • Jason,

I support Dori Monson on this one. I am getting sick of our media supporting the leftist Socialist movement!!!!. Bonneville needs to be called out for their actions against Dori. Bonneville is part of Latter Day Saints Of Jesus Christ(Mormons). They would agree with what Dori said. We need to stand up as true Patriots of America and not put up with this Socialist garbage!!!!!!
