Durr, speaking before the radio panel of the Independent Citizens Committee of the Arts, Sciences & Professions in Waldorf-Astoria, New York, June 28, pleaded for “radio that is truly free — as free as the economic domination and overweening greed as from Government censorship.” He predicted FM would provide such a “free radio” (Broadcasting Magazine-July 2, 1945, page 27)
