It’s a done deal! The long expected acquisition of KCPQ-TV “Q13” & KZJO-TV “JOEtv” by the FOX Network was announced this morning on “Q13” website. Nexstar Media Group will sell the stations along with WITI-TV Milwaukee to the network for $350 million. “Acquiring stations in these high-performing NFC markets enhances our already strong nationwide footprint and further demonstrates FOX Television Stations’ commitment to serving our viewers, advertisers and local communities,” said Jack Abernethy, CEO of FOX Television Stations. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2020, subject to regulatory approval. The transaction will give FOX stations in 14 of the top 15 media markets in the country. Nexstar acquired “Q13” & “JOEtv” from Tribune in Sept. as part of a $4.1 billion purchase.
