As reported in today’s AllAccess.com a move totally unrelated to the new hires for the morning show team, 106.1 KBKS “KISS FM” has decided to award the much-promised $10,000 cash prize for “Seattle’s funniest person”. Congratulations to winner Mikaela Bothell for winning the refer-a-friend contest. However, the station ended up hiring pro’s from other markets – namely Amber “Alabama” Cole and Evan “English Evan” Omelia to fill out the “Carla Marie & Anthony Show” . I’ll hazard a guess the iHeart Media lawyers pointed out that a false contest would run afoul of FCC rules prompting the station to award the prize, which strikes this reporter as afterthought “damage control”.
