My father Rod Hammett started in radio at KTAC in Tacoma with his on air singing canaries. He then went to KOL in Seattle where my brother Ryan and I recorded our own 45’s. After that he went he went to KJR and the midnight shift. He brought home the Fab 50 every week. All of our closets in our Des Moines home were filled with 33’s and 45 records. He was an incredible father and husband. He was hilarious always cracking jokes. He passed away just before his 96th birthday. Our mother Genevieve is still alive in Buckley at 100 years old. We had Arabian horses, dogs and cats, chickens, one cow, a red fox named Margo he brought home from either KOL or KJR. Dad worked with Bob Salter and Pat O’Day. Best father ever 🙏😂👍
