Final Week! Last Days of KXXO Mixx 96.1!
Just the facts: KXXO has been sold and Mixx 96.1 will go off the air after Sunday, October 26, 2025. New owner Bustos Media will begin its X96 Spanish-language pop format at 96.1 FM on October 27. As we began our first official day on the air January 16, 1990 with the Beatles’ “The Long and Winding Road,” we will complete the circle with that as well. Tune in the 11pm hour Sunday so you can say you heard our last hour on-the-air! Throughout the week, we are having some special guests and programs, like comedian and friend-of-the-station Sam Miller Wednesday in the 8am hour, Olympia radio superstar (70 years on air!) Dick Pust Thursday in the 8am hour, and Dick’s interview with station owners Toni Holm and David Rauh (shown at left) Saturday at 7am. We plan on keeping KXXO.com for the time being. Check here and our Facebook page for possible updates. Thank you for your support!

So MANY expletives come to mind! This is absolutely terrible! I mean, I knew Olympia was the home of our taxmasters and assorted public serpents, but I didn't know it had been invaded with enough Spaniards that there was a 'market' for Spanish speaking radio!
KXXO/Mixx 96.1 was ALWAYS my 'go to' station when iHeart 95.7 wore my ears out!
I hope Bustos Media takes a BIG FLOP!
