March 1960 (Seattle P-I) Viewers complain that Channel 13 canceled the late, late movie. Swingshift Theater had aired after most other Seattle stations signed off for the day. Lacking sponsorship, KTVW management felt shutting down at 11pm made more sense. An inquiry by the tv editor at the P-I got a response from KIRO 7. A spokeman there said KIRO might be interested if the other stations were willing to alternate the presentation of this late night fare. KOMO 4 and KING 5 were not interested.
