KMIH PRESS RELEASE — KMIH 88.9 The Bridge, Mercer Island High School’s award winning radio station, is set to provide exclusive coverage of this year’s premier Seafair events. After a two-year hiatus, Seafair is back and so is KMIH’s Log Boom Radio, a format created by the Mercer Island High students to bring Seafair from Lake Washington to the world. This marks the third year the student-run station has been invited to lend its broadcasting talents to Seattle’s main summer attraction.
KMIH kicks off its Log Boom Radio coverage August 5th, 6th and 7th. Tune-in throughout the weekend as KMIH brings you non-stop summer music and entertainment, including interviews and conversations with Seafair participants, live action from the Unlimited Hydroplane races and exclusive in-the-air cockpit coverage of the Boeing Seafair Airshow, starring the US Navy Blue Angels.
KMIH General Manager and Broadcast Media instructor, Joe Bryant is pleased that Seafair organizers have invited KMIH 889 the Bridge to participate again to provide live radio coverage. Bryant says, “when I was a teen Seafair was the highlight of my summer and I so appreciate getting to share the thrill of hydro racing and jets soaring above Lake Washington with our students. This is a great partnership for us since Mercer Island High is located literally in the middle of the action! The hands-on experience our students get broadcasting a live event of this
magnitude is so valuable!”

I wonder if they listen to old Pat O'Day tapes as part of their training?
Perfect. Other than that, somewhere there may be KIRO video, but I doubt it.
