Now the Seahawks/Mariners are the only good reasons for me to listen to KIRO. KOMO rules!
Oops, I forgot about KIRO-FM. My FM dials are stuck on KZOK.
I keep forgetting that there is an Internet!!...a little more about Branom...he apparently retired from KIRO in 1996, started a restaurant named Vina, in Belltown, but then decided to bail out of that venture, and returned to KIRO, where he was a general assignment reporter, well into the 2000's....looks like he finally retired in 2013...he is on Facebook---I do not like Facebook...anyway, I often wondered if he was related to the folks who ran a business in the Industrial area of Seattle, called Branom Instruments....I doubt it.
This is tangential....but kinda similar...in the mid-60s, my late brother started up his first Rock band, at the age of 15....their lead singer was a scrawny. short kid, who was not shy, and had a strong voice....many years later, this kid, probably in his late 30s, showed up on KIRO TV as a general reporter!...His name was Bob Branom....he was with KIRO for several years, but must have bailed out of the business...I have no idea where his career went!
