A practice that’s mostly disappeared from the airwaves is regular airing of the National Anthem. This morning at 9 am (12 noon ET) in a co-ordinated effort, iHeart Media, Cumulus, Cox Media Group & Alpha Media stations all aired the Star-Spangled Banner on their stations simultaneously. In a joint press release it was stated: “a moment of solidarity to celebrate our collective strength as a nation and recognize the heroic efforts of so many workers on the frontline – including our doctors, nurses, health care professionals, caregivers and other critical responders who are working night and day to get us through this.”
