  • Great song on the aircheck, Diddy wa Diddy by Captain Beefheart 1966. Jason, worth featuring the song on your front page. Really cool sound!

  • I knew that about JR. Was to late to correct. He had been at the Blue eagle. From what I recall, he was driving the PD Nick
Anthony's car and was a flat bed train close to sunset. Nifty's on Harbor Island was another spot staff would stop at. The Beach Broiler was the fancy place to go for a drink, then it became Salty's. The shack was the fast food place. Not sure that KOL was as much a threat as KING was at the time. Was a very turbulent time at KJR as Gary Shannon could probably attest to. Wasn't to long after this that Steve West arrived as PD and Shannon Sweate as GM.

  • KJR was at 2600-26th Ave. S. W. and KOL was at 1100 W. Florida St. The joint was The Blew Eagle.

  • KJR wasn't on Harbor Island. It was on 26th Ave SW. Maybe he was down on Harbor Island looking for a job at KOL. ;) or he left the Blue Eagle and then then hit the train in the vicinity.

    • Bingo! He had just left a tavern and had a little run-in with a train in the dark. There was talk of a lawsuit and Bwana claimed he would own the railroad when it was over.

  • What a character. 2nd time at KJR he hit a train on Harbor Island near the station., lucky to survive. Broke his arm. Can still see him with that cast on!

  • VERY COOL. I have heard airchecks of him at WWJD, KYA, WFUN, KJR (father Duffy) NOW KGB. I wonder if WUBE and other stations will show up?
