Outdoor Advertising Media: SkyWriting

I ran across this link to skywriters advertising the 1935 Chevrolet.

Skywriting was very common in the 1940’s and 50’s. Pepsi Cola sticks in
my memory.

Also, there was a Seattle company (anyone remember its name?) that
bought a bunch of WWII surplus searchlights and rented them out for
sales, grand openings, etc. Newspaper and radio ads told us to “follow
the searchlights to the best deals”.

Even more exciting on summer evenings was the Mobilgas blimp with the
Flying Red Horse flapping his wings across the sky in animated red neon.
