Anne Nelskog, wife of radio pioneer Wally Nelskog, passed away earlier this month. She was 91…Alan Smith, of Enumclaw, paid just over $200 for an empty jar of Adams Peanut Butter that had J.P. Patches’ picture on the label. The Patches Pal drove all the way to Centralia to pick up the prize he bid on through Ebay. He will add this to his collection of Patches memorabilia…Jon Brady, Executive Producer at KING 5, takes over as News Director at XETV San Diego. Brady was formerly with KCPQ 13 as Director of News/Content…KZIZ, now Radio Punjab, is part of a network of stations [Fresno, San Francisco, Sacramento and Vancouver BC]. Listening to the Fresno station Saturday night, I heard ads for an auto dealer, appliance store and real estate company. I did not hear infomercials. They have the market for middle Eastern business and might do well here, if they can sell advertisers despite the limited reach of the Pacific-Sumner signal…After 15 months with Iheart Seattle, Rich Davis will relocate back to Minneapolis, and iHeartMedia has promoted Rich Moore to Senior VP/Programming for its Seattle operations. Moore will continue to serve as PD of Sports 950 KJR, while Kevin Shockey is promoted to Assistant Program Director…A new organization called The AM Radio Alliance is made up of Alpha, Bonneville, CBS, Cox, Cumulus, Entercom, Family Stations, The Grand Ole Opry, Greater Media, Hearst, Hubbard, iHeart, NRG, Scripps, Townsquare, Tyler Media, and Tribune. The group of radio companies was organized to pressure the FCC to back away from its plan to allow small AM stations to maintain power at night as the Commission tries to revitalize the AM band. Any guess as to which side might win?…
