Radio Notes on Grosby, Beck, Bwana Johnny, & Ross

April 18, 2010 – Dave Grosby, whose last program on KJR AM 950 was last Monday, will sell advertising for Seattle U broadcasts while waiting out a non-compete clause before joining KIRO AM 710 in August.

October 2009 – Nationally syndicated talk show host and former Mount Vernon DJ and Seattle radio overnighter, Glenn Beck, was honored here. Mount Vernon Mayor Bud Norris presented Beck with the ceremonial key on September 26.

October 28, 2005 – Bwana Johnny aka Richard Johnson died this morning in Seattle at age 56 after a prolonged bout with congestive heart failure. He was the morning host at KJR in the late 1960s and returned to host evenings as Father Duffy in 1974-75.

May 2004 – KIRO AM 710 talk show host Dave Ross has made it official by announcing he will run for Congress, but will remain on air until July.
