Just a few years earlier, 1966, the youth from Richland (Mike Lonergan) was a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship contest. “Semifinalists make up less than one percent of high school juniors in the nation,” according to a story in the Tri-City Herald at the time.
Jaynie Jones, former KOMO AM personality, wrote a nice piece about Mike Lonergan. Good stuff, read it at SOUTH SOUND TALK.

Also, check out our multi-video interview with the whiz-kid, Boss Jock, Mike Lonergan on the KLAY AUDIO page.
