I worked with Lockwood. He tolerated me and that was ok with me. I thought he was so unique and totally entertaining. I remember one time I was stuck in slow traffic (shocking in Seattle, right?) on the way to KJR studios. Lockwood was doing "Police Blotter" - crazy funny - and as I was laughing I looked over at the car next to me and saw the driver laughing along with me. First and only time I experienced that.
One of a kind guy and a one of a kind station.
Cross-over Country tunes ranged from the lovely Crystal Gayle to the silliness of Jerry Reed. Burt Reynold's hit would more likely be in the "novelty record" category.
