It used to be when your favorite deejay left a radio station, unless they popped up at the competition, you most likely would never hear them again. There was no such thing as podcasts or streaming audio to rely on. Such was the case with radio greats Larry Lujack and Tom Murphy of KJR fame, as noted in QZVX-“Seattle’s finest in Chicago.”
Posted below is an example of what those guys sounded like on WCFL, Chicago in 1973. The tape opens with a brief bit of Tom, followed by Larry, including his “Clunk Letter of the Day.”
