Mercer Island High School’s Rhythmic CHR “Hot Jamz 88.9” KMIH Mercer Island/Seattle WA is stunting with a broad mix of music as it prepares to relaunch as “88.9 The Bridge …SINCLAIR asks the question, “How can we replace more humans, cut our staff and still deliver a news product?” Thank goodness for technology! San Antonio Fox affiliate KABB became the 10th Sinclair-owned station to launch a drone this week. Sinclair plans to have 80 trained and FAA-certified drone pilots in 40 markets by the end of 2017. TVSPY…The old KAPY (Port Angeles) call letters are now being used at a low-power FM in Duvall. KAPY was bought out by KKOL (Salem) and went dark (2006). Saw his picture on the side of a milk carton this morning, but no longer listed on the KZOK website.

The goons at Sinclair are probably waiting for virtual reality (VR) to get perfected in robots. We’re close to that for audio creation & video can’t be soon far behind. Maybe TV anchors of the future will be animated creations with VR installed, as will all VT on radio. …Or robots that can converse/interact with one another. Why bother with humans?

Sinclair and others will consolidate newsroom into hubs. Local news will be a thing of the past. I think we will see regional news reports – at best.
