Makes me wonder. Why were there no national awards competitions for Radio’s Best Airchecks when radio was in those glory days?
There would have been several categories for nominees.

Most awesome lead-up to hitting the post.
Back-timing with incredibly witty patter.
Punctuating music intros with compelling charm and humor.
Cutting and splicing an aircheck sample that blows your hair back and makes your blood rush.
Bloopers.
