Joining FOX 13 KCPQ as weekend co-anchor on Good Day Seattle later this month, Winkel was an intern at KING 5 in 2014 and is a graduate of the University of Washington Journalism Communications program.
Travis Mayfield, formerly with FOX 13, will be back co-hosting Seattle’s Morning News with Colleen O’Brien & Chris Sullivan (traffic) all next week 6-9am on
KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM.

Haven’t watched a Seattle TV newscast in years. Most “story tellers” last a year and then move to another market to share all their tweets, posts, and glam shots. Substance and professionalism has been exchanged for poses, selfies, and “look at me” moments.

There are still plenty of annoying ones in this country to spread around to new markets. It is a revolving door. They only seem to stay for so long and then they are on their way to “greener pastures.” Besides, if the over-the-air industry is dying, this is truly more like musical chairs and soon there won’t be many chairs left to claim.
