Update: KCAL/Los Angeles personality’s death was an accident

(ABC 7) According to KTLA news and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, KCAL-TV evening news anchor Chauncy Glover died of an accidental “acute intoxication” from methamphetamine and chloroethane.

On November 5, Glover, 39 (and an Alabama native), was discovered unresponsive in his home, only to have the attending medical professionals pronounce the personality dead a little after midnight.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, chloroethane is a colorless gas at room temperature with a “characteristically sharp odor.” It’s used to create dyes, solvents, and refrigerants, numb the skin before medical procedures such as biopsies and piercings, and treat sports injuries.
