I’m proud to announce that we have acquired the exclusive rights to the Smooth Jazz format, and will be the officially licensed Pacific Northwest affiliate for the Smooth Jazz Network, said Bennett.
The Smooth Jazz network daily host lineup includes format veterans; Sandy Kovach mornings, Miranda Wilson mid-days, Allen Kepler PM Drive and Maria Lopez evenings. Programming on the Smooth Jazz Network includes the first ever countdown show for the format; The Smooth Jazz Top 20, Smooth Weekend (both hosted by format creator Allen Kepler), Contemporary Jazz with Kenny G and The Dave Koz Radio Show. In order to make room for the Smooth Jazz format, KBB will implement the following changes: The Gospel format currently on 1560 AM KZIZ will move to 1420 AM KRIZ. The Blues format on 1420 will be cut back to accommodate gospel format. The talk shows – Community Potpourri, Rev. Al Sharpton, and GameTime Sports – heard on 1620 KYIZ will not be affected as the 1620 lineup will remain the same. SEATTLEMEDIUM.COM
Country KGY-FM KAYO South Sound Country 96.9 Olympia will debut Alan Kabel in the night slot from 7p-mid this week, replacing former host Brittni who exited the station earlier this year.
Also added to the lineup is Cari Palmer, who joins KAYO for the 9a-noon slot. Prior to coming on board, Palmer was most recently at CBS RADIO Country KMPS Seattle.
Former Alternative KNDD 107.7 THE END MD/afternooner MARCO COLLINS will be featured in a documentary about the Seatle scene as seen through his eyes (circa ’91-’97) and the legacy of THE END. The legendary ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME DJ says “THE GLAMOUR AND THE SQUALOR” is currently in production and launched a KICKSTARTER campaign through MAY 31st to help raise finishing funds. ALLACCESS
5-01-2013 – KWJZ and the Smooth Jazz sound has returned, in the form of a Low-power FM channel at 98.5 in Fall City. The music playlist also includes Adult Standards, Music from the 40s to Today. The station call letters were previously KZFX.
