KNWN adds talent as station revamps image; KREM tv morning news adds one; Sac vet retires

97.7/1000 KNWN has added three Seattle tv newscasters to anchor positions. Former KIRO-TV news anchor Aaron Wright has joined co-host Marina Rockinger weekday afternoons (3-6pm). Long-time Seattle TV news anchor and reporter Denise Whitaker is expected to join Northwest Newsradio in June. Whitaker, who is currently wrapping a 20 year-career on KOMO-TV, will join Brian Calvert as co-host of the Northwest Morning News, weekdays from 5am to 9am.
Chris Nguyen, who most recently anchored for KOMO-TV, will begin duties as co-host of the Northwest Morning News April 14th.
The addition of the three new anchors comes as Northwest Newsradio 97.7/AM 1000 has completely re-imagined itself, with all-new pacing and energy stemming from a new music suite, and new station announcer.

This information comes as Manda Factor, formerly with KNWN, settles in as morning co-anchor at NewsRadio 97.3 KIRO, along with morning host Charlie Harger.

Nicole Hernandez is back at KREM/Spokane, now as full-time anchor on the morning tv news with Tim Pham.

Veteran broadcaster Tom Sullivan is ending his daily program on Sacramento’s NewsRadio KFBK-AM. His final show is set for Friday, May 30.
