Southwestern Ontario AM dumped in favor of FM

Blackburn Media has officially announced that CFCO will transition to its new full-time home on the FM band at 91.3 MHz starting April 25, 2026.

The station will move from its historic 630 AM frequency and low-power 92.9 FM signal to a new 1,250-watt transmitter on 91.3 FM.
The new signal is designed to provide consistent 24/7 coverage across all of Chatham-Kent, overcoming the limitations of the previous equipment and signal.
The station will maintain its current country music and local news format.
There will be a transition period of several months where the station continues to broadcast on 630 AM and 92.9 FM before those signals are officially retired.
Listeners can continue to stream the station via the iHeartRadio app or Blackburn Media’s website with no disruption.
The CRTC approved the application in April 2025, noting that the move addresses issues with failing legacy equipment and aging infrastructure.
