    Norah O’Donnell is returning to “CBS Mornings” on Tuesday, reuniting with Gayle King and joining Nate Burleson as CBS tries to shore up the third-place morning show.

    “CBS Mornings” viewership is down about 9% from a year ago, while its audience among 25- to 54-year-olds has fallen 20%.

    O’Donnell, who left the morning show in 2019 to anchor the “CBS Evening News,” is also taking on a new role as a “60 Minutes” correspondent.

      Suffered through a few minutes watching Katie Turd on MSNOW while at the gym this morning. Smirking, sneering, smug attitude while reading the twisted version of events that this station considers ‘news.’
      Fortunately, the tv beside it was showing a cartoon. I did notice that this one ripped off several ideas from the old Looney Tunes features.
      A dozen or so televisions and nothing worth watching.

      GMA, TODAY, CBS MORNINGS. All background noise. Maybe stay-at-home Moms or shiftless, dead-beat dads have time for these programs, but the format drags and the information comes wrapped in lies or omissions. The majority of the viewers may be BOOMERS. Boomers finishing their coffee before they head out to meet up at some location to protest something they know little about. But by God they have nothing better to do, so this protest and CBS Mornings helps fill the void.

    Hangin’ In There — KGY/Olympia, with local staffing 10a-2p Dave Cowan & 2p-7p Kevin the Brit. Too bad about morning drive where it’s syndicated programming. Just doesn’t sound local–listeners can tell. Choosy mothers choose Jif! And discerning radio listeners prefer LIVE & LOCAL on the radio. Plenty of talented, old radio guys that would step in and enthusiastically promote the South Sound in the a.m. on FM KGY.

    Tony Romo pleaded no contest on September 1, 2026, to a civil OWI (operating while intoxicated) charge from his July 23 arrest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

    What does that mean for Romo?

    License revoked for six months.
    Fine of roughly $800–$1,066.
    Must complete an alcohol assessment program.
    Ignition interlock device required on any vehicle he owns or operates, lasting at least a year after his license is reinstated.

    CBS Sports placed him on indefinite leave in late July after the arrest and release of bodycam footage. There is still no timetable for a decision on his future.

  5. Stern Overstaying His Welcome

    SiriusXM has dropped Howard Stern’s Howard 101 channel from its lineup, adding weight to reports that Stern will cut back his schedule when he returns from summer break.

    The change takes effect Sept. 1 as SiriusXM updates channel numbers across sports, entertainment, comedy, news, talk and music. Radio Andy will move from Channel 102 to Channel 101. Howard 100 will stay on Channel 100. Howard 101 will leave the lineup.

  6. Leavitt Would Bring Common Sense To THE VIEW

    ABC’s The View wants outgoing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt as a permanent co-host and has already asked her to appear as a guest, two sources told the Daily Mail.
    Leavitt is weighing it. President Trump and other White House officials have urged her to take the offer.

    Thursday was her last day. The 29-year-old said earlier this month she would leave at the end of August to spend more time with her newborn daughter, Viviana, and 2-year-old son, Nicholas.

    Producers want a guest spot soon as a trial but are serious about adding her to the all-female panel, one source said. A second said formal talks have not begun, though ABC has made its interest clear to people close to her. Leavitt and ABC declined to comment.

    Season 30 starts this fall with the current six hosts returning: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

    Slava “Sal” Veder, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer for The Associated Press, died in his sleep last week. He was just eight days shy of his 100th birthday.

    His prize-winning photo, taken in 1973, is among the most famous photographs in American history. Veder captured the moment a U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel was greeted on an airport runway by his joyous family, including his wife, two daughters and two sons. The family was reunited after Lt. Col. Robert L. Stirm had spent more than five years as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam. For that photo, Veder was awarded the 1974 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography.

    “The photo became a symbol of the end of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. But for Stirm, it represented heartbreak as he had been handed a ‘Dear John’ letter from his wife, Loretta, by a chaplain upon his release and the couple divorced a year later. Stirm died in 2025.”

    TV-MOVIE-MUSIC stars seem to die in ‘three’s’ — Tim Curry, a character actor who created a gallery of delicious, very loony villains for stage and screen, including Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” has died. He was 80.
