Newspaper Strike Announced

The Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild announced that the unionized journalists of the Skagit Valley Herald, Anacortes American and Stanwood Camano News have unanimously voted to go on an open-ended strike if they do not receive a fair deal at their upcoming bargaining session. They are calling for all readers to boycott the newspapers.

Newspapers are in a precarious situation these days, cutting back on print editions and cutting staff. Message to the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Guild: Don’t crap where you eat.
