KNBQ increases range

May 1982 – The News Tribune

KNBQ-FM, Radio station 97.3 on the dial has more than doubled its antenna height by moving to Indian Hill near Federal Way. This increased height, combined with the installation of new “state of the art” equipment, has boosted its range from Astoria, Ore., to Victoria, B.C., according to station manager Jack Bankson. Bankson, a broadcast veteran who was at KVI in Seattle for 20 years, said this new coverage will make Tacoma’s KNBQ even more competitive with the Seattle-based stations.
