101.1 KKXA Moving to 96.9 FM

What happens at the exact moment of the switch?
We’re having a party on the air! Listen for a unique Mitchell & Moffett show and reset your preset with us!

Will 101.1 just go silent?
After we move, 101.1 will go quiet.

Will both frequencies work for a while?
No. May 14th is a hard cutover. After that, 96.9 is the only place to find us.

What if I’m in the middle of listening during the switch?
If you’re on 101.1 when it happens, you’ll lose the signal. Just tune to 96.9 and pick right back up.

Is your website / social media / phone / text line changing?
None of it. Same website, same handles, same numbers. Everything stays exactly where it is.

  1. KAYO

Wonder if they could cross promote with KAYO (KYYO)?

When you’re in the south sound tune to our country brethren, KAYO 96.9.

When you’re in the north sound tune to 96.9 or 1520 KXA!

    Or something like that….

Why do that? Keep that frequency synonymous with country in the region. Full market or near full market coverage between all three frequencies.

Sell that coverage and programming to potential clients looking for the common demo.

Both stations aren’t exactly the same format, but there’s quite a bit of overlap between the two.

  2. Not so silent

In Everett 101.1 will switch to 96.9 and the audio on 101.1 won’t be silent per se, but will be the new station from Whidbey Island, likely with a bit of static here and there mixing with CFMI in Vancouver BC, maybe some KXL from Portland with Tropo enhancement or airplane scatter and even some Space 101.1 from Seattle proper. 96.9 will go from a mix of Jack FM Vancouver, KAYO Olympia and the LPFMs to KXA programming, likely picket fencing outside of Everett or anywhere that is terrain shielded from the KXA translator transmitter. In any stage of this event, neither frequency will be silent.

The entire FM band is becoming or has been a cluttered mess for some time now.

Good for Andy and gang at KXA/KRKO keeping these stations going with local content. Glad they were able to find a new frequency.

  3. Great news for KXA

Because the Canadian station on 101FM fights them for coverage even when I am in Everett visiting Bethany at Pacific hospital near downtown. They have a superior playlist compred to KPLZ.
