Good work! Close the door on your way out.

Tupelo, Mississippi) WTVA chief meteorologist Matt Laubhan will always be remembered for praying for the city of Amory prior to the arrival of the tornado that ravaged the community.

He, along with the entire weather team, was laid off on Friday.

WTVA’s parent company Allen Media Group in May announced a restructuring move that affected about 12%, or some 2,500 employees.

A simple mention of the weather forecast a couple times in a 30 minute newscast (less than 20 seconds of time to make this mention) is enough. We don’t need a weather map, temps for all the cities and a lesson in meteorology. You are correct, we have it all on our phones.

Reminds me of when Frank Reynolds lost his cool anchoring the ABC news during the Reagan shooting in ’81.
The news people are expected to keep steady, not panic the audience.
