Frankie Katafias steps back from tv

Frankie Katafias has left KIRO 7. She spent her early career period in Idaho television news prior to coming to KIRO 7. To get to Boise, Frankie worked as a freelance reporter and production assistant at Cox Communications in Orange County, then as a reporter and production assistant for City TV in Lakewood, and then finally became a field producer for Prep Pigskin Report in San Diego. Frankie joined KIRO 7 in July 2022, took some time off August-December last year, intermittently, but so much that viewers wondered if Katafias was leaving KIRO. Katafias was born September 25, 1994 in Vancouver, Wa., and grew up in Orange County, California. Frankie explained on Instagram:

Wondered where you went, Frankie. Best of luck…sometimes we just need to step back.

Sorry you’re not there…you made even our miserable weather worth watching. Best wishes!

While I agree that Frankie will be missed, the weather in the PNW is wonderful — in winter. I think you are talking about the hot, humid, sweaty, summertime weather. And I don’t recall such lousy summer weather when Sandy Hill was “weather gal” at KIRO 7.
