KOMO radio’s Ted Potter, Baron Von Kay Sound, Ted Garlatz –The crowded skies of Seattle

Emmett Watson does a ride-a-long (Story HERE)

“He has been traffic-watching for KOMO for 12 years.”

The column ran in Oct. 1991, and Watson was close, but not quite accurate: Before KOMO, Ted was the KAYO traffic reporter in the KAYO Skyhawk in 1981-82.

Ted passed away in 2011. (Obit HERE)

Other traffic reporters: Clark Stahl, Wendy/KJR, Ted Garlatz, and Rudy Schroeder. Bob Young, Baron Von Kay Sound of KSND, and for anyone familiar with Phoenix media history, and obit for Jerry Foster.

  1. KING 5 traffic copter, one of the early birds in the Seattle sky covering traffic commutes and news stories.

  2. I don’t recall which companies sponsored the traffic reports. Auto repair, auto insurance and attorneys would be obvious choices.
