Sydney Berger was a sports reporter and anchor at KXLY 4 News Now (CBS) Spokane. She joined the team in September 2023, focusing on sports coverage including high school athletics, college teams like the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Washington State Cougars, and local events. A WSU grad, originally from Northern California, Berger was eager to return to Eastern Washington upon joining KXLY.
Previous to KXLY, Sydney interned with the ABC affiliate in Los Angeles, working alongside award-winning sports reporters Rob Fukusaki and Curt Sandoval during the summer of 2022.
KFSN-TV, known on-air as ABC30 Action News, is a television station serving Fresno and the Central Valley region of California. It operates as the ABC network’s owned-and-operated station in the market, providing comprehensive local news, weather, sports, and entertainment coverage to Fresno, Madera, Merced, Mariposa, Tulare, and Kings counties.
KFSN-TV signed on the air in 1953 as a CBS affiliate under different ownership. In 1986, it switched to ABC and adopted its current call letters. The station has been owned by ABC (now part of The Walt Disney Company) since 1986, when the network acquired it as part of its expansion of owned-and-operated stations.
