Among my responsibilities as news director at KMO in 1966 was setting up the gear and engineering Breakfast With McMurtrie, which aired each morning from the Winthrop Hotel. Burt was a colorful character, and a popular Tacoma air personality and columnist in the 1950s and ’60s.
