NEW SCHEDULE BEGINS
KCZ STARTS BROADCAST PLAN, UNDER REVISED PLAN
Dr. Matthews Expects to Talk With Far East as Result of Increasing Antennae.
WITH the new schedule for radio telephone broadcasting in effect, KCZ, of the Economy Market, was first in the air this morning with a two hour program of music, talks, and codes. The new station KDZE came in with a half hour of news and music which was to be broadcast at 3:30 this afternoon, and KFC, the old timer, is ready with its 11:15 o’clock hour news bulletins and music, again in its early afternoon program, beginning at 5:20 this afternoon, to come in again at 3:20 for an hour.
SAVINGS DIRECTOR TO TALK
The evening’s activities will begin at 5:20 with a half hour of news, music from KFC, followed by a lecture by the director of savings of one of our local banking institutions, on “Right Savings as Distinguished from False Economy.” The lecture will be from 6:20 to 6:45 by Jay Heath, United States Public Health Service, who will speak on “The Care of the Teeth.”
KHQ, EXCELSIOR MOTORCYCLE AND RADIO COMPANY, BEGINS AT 7
A program of talks and entertainment features for an hour by the company, takes up the burden.
Miss Cecil Cunningham, vaudeville comedienne, who was in Seattle three years ago with the Greenwich Village Follies, will be heard from KFC in a concert, beginning at 9 o’clock, with songs by Henry Clay. She should be good. “Why I Cry Over You,” Miss Lillian Keller, pianist, will give selections from Chopin, Liszt, and Raff. The artist is a pupil of Pierre McNeely.
POLICE BULLETINS
Bulletins from the Northwest Police and Sheriffs’ Association, opening up at 9:30, will conclude the air messages for the day.
**REV. MARK A. MATTHEWS, PASTOR OF THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, said yesterday that he looks forward to talking with the Far East by increasing the power of the church radio station. He has already heard sermons from points 3,500 miles distant.
