Radio/TV Notes: January 1964

JANUARY 1964 – A feud may be in the offing. Early in December, Ed Sullivan announced he would introduce to American television a singing group called the Beatles, on his February 9 show. Jack Paar has jumped the gun and will show film clips of the British recording stars on his program January 3rd. The Beatles, for the benefit of the uninitiated, have been an absolute sensation in England, evoking the same type of hysteria among teenage girls that Sinatra generated in the war years…IGA Stores sponsor the weekday evening KTNT TV ‘Bingo’ game, which follows after 11-Star News at 10 p.m….

Channel 13 signs on the air each weekday afternoon at 4:30 with Bozo in Toyland followed by Kartoonsville and then Western Jamboree, live from the KTVW studio at 5:30.
KVI radio revives old-time radio with a nightly revolving series of features:

Thursday: Famous Jury Trials
Friday: Dangerous Assignment
