Ricky Nelson (also known as Rick Nelson) married Kristin Harmon (full name: Sharon Kristin Harmon) in 1963.
Her brother is the famous actor Mark Harmon, best known for roles like Leroy Jethro Gibbs on NCIS and appearances in films such as The Presidio and Freaky Friday. Kristin also had another sibling, actress/model Kelly Harmon, but Mark is the one widely recognized as the prominent actor in the family.
They were married for about 19 years (until their 1982 divorce) and had four children together: actress Tracy Nelson, twin musicians Gunnar and Matthew Nelson (of the band Nelson), and actor Sam Nelson. Kristin herself was an actress and painter who appeared on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, with Rick and the Nelson family, Ozzie, Harriet, Dave … and Rick.
This connection made Mark Harmon Ricky Nelson’s brother-in-law (and later ex-brother-in-law).
