The KBKS issue is crazy! The engineer or someone on staff wasn’t paying attention?
That wouldn’t have happened ‘back in the day.’ The GM or PD would have been calling the on-air jock right away.
Out of market imaging. How embarrasing! That’s what you get for all of this syndication.

From time to time, I will scan the FM and get HD signals rebroadcasting AM stations. I don’t include these as pre-sets on my system because they drop out too often out here in the sticks around Olympia-Lacey. I have added a KNKX HD channel and one from KING FM despite the same issue.

  2. Technical issues

Been hearing more and more technical issues from the Seattle group.

1: KZOK was off the air for a number of hours awhile back. I frequently hear two transmitter sites on the air at the same time. You can tell by the signal flipping between the two sites depending on terrain. They aren’t completely synced up.
2: KJR FM went off the air for a number of hours a couple of months ago.
3: Today, KBKS had 1090 The Patriot audio on its terrestrial signal for 2-3hours during morning drive time.
4: other issues like out of market imaging and identification during voice tracks.

Those are just observations made while paying attention.

Morning drive on KZOK originating from out of market. Don’t recall that working very well in Seattle in the past.

They’ve got things to get worked out in that place.

Sometimes wonder what would’ve happened if Hubbard acquired KZOK etc. I know from a source in that building they wanted to pick those stations up before Ihm jumped in and got them.
